God’s Justice, My Sin and God’s Grace, My Shame

Many people think that God is mean for even having a hell in the first place.  However, it is not that God is mean, but it is simply that God is just.  Because God is Glorious, Holy, and Just, it is not possible for sin to go unpunished.  Christ’s death on the cross was the punishment for sin.  However, for those who do not trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, there still must be payment for sin, and that payment is called hell.

There are no words to describe the agony of hell and what it will be like to be separated from God for eternity.  But for this blog let’s not focus on the fact that there must be hell.  Let’s focus on the fact that God’s Grace covers my sin and shame in Jesus.

Who am I in Christ?

  • Chosen
  • Adopted
  • Purchased
  • Forgiven
  • Cleansed

Wow!  As I read these things, it simply causes me to say “Thank You” to Almighty God.  God’s Justice required payment for sin.  God’s Grace let Christ go to the cross.  I am not my sin or my shame.  God’s grace has made me brand new in Christ!
